Deluxe Dream Tent Review and Giveaway

A pop up tent that fits easily over your childs bed to turn it into a personal hideaway.  Let me tell you more!

I saw some really cool toys and gadgets at BlogOn UK back in September. But I remember being particularly wowed by the folks at the ReCreation stall with their Dream Tents. A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be sent a Dream Tent to review – and I also have one to give away! Read on to find out how you can win one and what I thought about them.

The idea is simple. It’s a pop up tent that fits over a single sized bed. They come in a few different styles and include a colour changing light. Let’s be honest, have you met a child who doesn’t love a tent and isn’t always wanting to build a secret den? Me neither!

We received the Space Adventure themed tent. My son has a cabin bed and I wondered how it would fit over as there are panels at the sides of the mattress, but it was no hassle. There are two U-shaped components that are flexible and slip under the mattress. The tent is one big piece that you bend over and clip in to each side of the mattress using the U shaped pieces ..and that’s it. No ties, no poles. It came in a handy carrier that it can be folded back into in minutes.

Space is a new love for my toddler after a recent project at Pre-School. He was delighted to see the design on the tent and was naming all the planets. The Dream Tent has two flap style doors that can be closed to make it more like a den, or folded back and tied to let more light in. It comes with a small clip on night light that has three colour settings and a very low level reading light. My son has suffered from night terrors for as long as I can remember and he has a night light already, this one was great as he was in control of where to attach it and what colour he wanted.

At the age of 4 and a half, he is just becoming aware of the dark and has started to get a fear of shadows and the dark. The sense of protection he got from the Dream Tent made him a lot more relaxed about bed times and made his bed a place he was keen to be in.

As well as using it for night time, the Dream Tent was a big draw for both toddlers to play in during the day! They had lots of fun pretending to be astronauts underneath the canopy of stars and took great delight hiding from me – if only they could manage to keep quiet.

Review of Dream Tent

The Dream Tent gave my son a private space and he really felt comfortable with it on, and as they come in a handy portable case you could take it anywhere you travel to give your child a sense of comfort in a new bed.

All in all I didn’t find any drawbacks to the Dream Tent, it is an excellent bit of kit and because of it’s easy application, it is no hassle to put it on or to remove at the drop of a hat – which if you have children you will understand is a necessity with the speed at which they change their minds!
