Having an older brother has meant that our daughter has had to make do with all his old toys. However I was on the lookout for an alternative to the ride on that we had for my son, the old three wheel ladybird we had was great but made a mess of my carpets with its small wheels. So for indoor use we decided to try the Toddlebike2.
When it arrived the courier joked that I had been sent an empty box! Weighing only 0.8kg it really is rediculously light. On first inspection I was more than a little sceptical. I appears flimsy and not something that will stand up to much wear and tear. Having a rough 3 1/2 year old as well as my 18month old made me think this thing would be wrecked in a few weeks. I was proven very wrong!
Although this was for my daughter, of course my eldest wanted a go! He has ridden it hard around the place and it has held it’s ground. He weighs in at a hefty 18.5kg so it can definitely take the weight and will be something that will last throughout the years.
To begin with, my daughter sat on the crossbar, scooted right up near the handlebars or walked it around for a good few weeks. We have had it now for almost 3 months and she is now riding it confidently inside and out. Due to the shape of the wheels it has been great indoors on the carpet and the wooden floors.
My husband is an avid mountain biker and has been impressed with the Toddlebike2. He says it is a great introduction to riding and perfect as a pre-balance bike. Helping with co-ordination and balance. The seat height is 20cm with the crossbars being little less allowing toddlers to access it easily. Dimensions 48 x 19.5 x 34 cm.
It has been a complete suprise and is used so much that I have recommended it to all my friends. I think the fact it is almost four times lighter than most balance bikes at 0.8kg , it makes it a winner for us. It isn’t a danger to toes in the house and during the winter when you aren’t outside so much it’s great to have such a small ride-on that can be enjoyed without being obtrusive. When taking it out and about it is light enought to carry or clip onto the buggy to use whenever.
The Toddlebike2 comes in three colours, Red, Blue and Pink. Retailing for £23.95 with free postage and packaging within the UK and Ireland it is an absolute steal – and I am able to offer my readers a discount code to get a whole 10% off at the checkout!

I have no doubt in recommending the Toddlebike2 for any children from 16months onwards looking for a ride-on firstly in the house then for ouside. A fantastic pre-balance bike!
